THE FIXX - ULTIMATE COLLECTION Fixx, The: Ultimate Collection This mid-'80s London-based new wave group sustained a successful career in America for several years, the Fixx always flirted with mainstream pop with their catchy, keyboard-driven pop. The Fixx released their debut album, Shuttered Room, in 1982 and the record spawned two U.K. hits, "Stand or Fall" and "Red Skies," the videos for both received heavy MTV airplay, endearing the band to the audience who would more fully embrace them. In 1983 The Fixx established themselves as a hit-making force in the U.S. which lead to their #4 Hit "One Thing Leads to Another," sending the album into the Top Ten. Later in '83 the next album, Reach The Beach, went Platinum, launching two more Top 40 singles - "Saved by Zero" and "Sign of Fire." The Ultimate Collection gathers, for the first time and with the cooperation of the band, all of The Fixx's key tracks - from their earliest UK singles "Lost Plane" and "Some People" through the essential hits "Red Skies" and "Stand or Fall" (heretofore unavailable on CD), "One Thing Leads to Another" and "Are We Ourselves?" to their most recent outing, "Two Different Views."
