King has been a busy man in the studio over the past few years. So busy, in fact, that a fair amount of the blues king’s work has been scattered here and there instead of being gathered in one convenient spot. Thus, we have this overview of previously uncollected tracks, culled from a wide array of sources. B.B.’s generosity when it comes to guest bows on his friends’ albums is equaled by the praise he publicly lavishes on them. The Mississippi Delta native remains the humblest of superstars, quick to credit the contributions of everyone else involved in his massive success before admitting he might at least be partially responsible. “I guess I would have to say it’s due to the fact I’ve got some very talented musicians with me. I’ve got a good agency, good public relations, and a good manager. And,” he finally added during a 1985 interview, “a little talent.” Through dozens of hits, millions of touring miles, and more exhausting one-nighters than today’s entertainers could envision in their worst nightmares, that “little talent” continues to shine diamond-bright on these gems.
